    Hi,

My Catalytic converter on my 2008 needs to be replaced, so I've been told. I've been quoted over 800 pounds from the dealer, which is crazy money to me. Does anyone know where I might be able to source one? Tried loads of places on the net, ebay etc but no luck.

    2008 Audi A6, 2 liter TDI
    engine no BRE170655
    Vehicle identifier 8NO97902
I was given this part number: 8e0254750hx

    Thanks for any help!

I doubt you would need to change it on a 3 year old car. I'd get a second opinion from an independent or another main dealer.

Diesels technically do not need a cat as they will pass an MOT without it. YOu could always get a straight through pipe to replace the CAT.

Are yo sure it is the CAT? what makes you believe it has failed?
