Just rung another local dealer and it was priced the same: £399 cambelt, £100 water pump. When I did ring my original dealer he did say a maximum charge of £100 so do you reckon I could quibble as to the price of this installation, does seem a bit steep as mentioned in previous posts.

I have just looked at my bill and it states that I was quoted £70 for the water pump change (labour, coolant and the pump) with the cambelt at £399. Sorry, I was quoted £60 over the phone as I wrote it down, but I can't work out whether the £70 was including VAT or not as the breakdown doesn't seem to tally up. I'm assuming that it's inc. VAT.

Hopefully they won't charge you the max amount.

    The update:

Rung Canterbury audi an they confirmed £70 water pump fitment when carried out with the cambelt replacement, they were quite helpful and they suggested to contact audi Maidstone to see if they would price match.

Therefore I rung Maidstone audi and they said £399 and waterpump £100, she said that also includes tensioners to which I stated it comes as kit anyway to which it went quiet, she then agreed and said "yes that's fine" and adjusted her books to the new price £469!

RESULT- saved £30 from taken advise from this great forum, with great people!

    Many thanks
