    Hi to all,

Hope you can help... I have a 2k A4 1.8t Quat which has had the gear box overhauled exactly 1yr ago...just recently noticed that when in 3rd / 4th and I floor the accelerator whilst crusing it seems to slip/over rev between 3-3.5k only.. When the gear box was overhauled the clutch was fine, could it be anything else. The car had the engine bay detailed after an accident, have noticed a lot of WD40 / polish oil in there, could it be that the belts are slipping.....The problem doesn't happen when I drive he car hard from 1st through to 4th....and only during cruising...
Sorry for the long note, this is my first thread.

Well it does sound like clutch slip how many miles has the car done and how many since the gearbox rebuild? I would of thought when the box was out you would of done the clutch as a matter of course

I was afraid of that...the car has done about 80k and about 12k since the rebuild...Audi rebuilt the box and when I suggested they do the clutch as well they advised it was fine and didn't need it..

Looks like they were being a bit tight with the budget when they fixed it. I think your going to have to drop the box again
