    Hi,

I am looking at a used 2010 A5, but am REALLY struggling to find the perfect car:

    Sportback, Auto, 211bhp, Sat Nav

There just don't seem to be any about. There are several 180bhp variants, but I dont want to compromise too much on performance.

I dont do more than 10k a year, so while a diesel would be considered, I prefer the drive of a petrol and wont recoup the cost difference.

    thanks for any advice.

yes there is a huge difference.

    I had the same prob between the 1.8 (160bhp) and 2.0 (180bhp)
I went out in a 180 and 211 A5. I found the 211 faster and still fuel efficient. It has 149 Co2, which certainly is better than the 1.8 I was going to order.
If I had a little bit more money then I would have gone for the 211. Your also best of looking to the back of an A5 brochure. It will give you the mpg figures. Which may also give you an idea.

However in my opinion, I think they are just as good as each other.

    Thanks for reply

Having now driven them, I am going to hold out for a year old used 211

Now it is a case of finding it, as in 2 months of looking I have yet to find one. I really dont want to compromise on anything, so AutoTrader app for iPhone is my new best friend!

the 211 is a fab engine. Just a little out my budget. (ordering new) Great thing is, it comes with servotronic steering as standard, which I think makes a HUGE difference to the cars handling.

The 180 bhp and 211 bhp is the same engine :S

Big difference here in europe is that the 211 bhp is automatically quattro!

THAT is the difference. I went for the 180 bhp version (FWD) and tuned it with MTM to 275 bhp.

The 211 bhp version allows te same. Also to 275 bhp.
