HELP PLEASE telephone and satnav not working and radio and cd restart every 5-10 minutes

2006 audi a6 2.0 tdi se avant anybody please shed light on my problem vagcom says phone not installed and states everything else ok dont know where to start have thought of replacing phone ecu under passenger seat but dont want to be throwing good money after bad is there a way i could do a test to make sure it is actually phone unit to blame beacause satnav worked fine before i tried a firmware update and now it just wont initialise and as though that isnt bad enough every 5 or so minutes whatever i am listening to be it radio or cd the whole MMI restarts

Clear fault codes and scan again. Look in your boot on the left hand side and open the panel to see if the electronics are wet.

if it was working before the update, suggests the firmware update may have caused this. what was the SW version of the mmi before the update, and to what firmware SW version have you done this to? Where have you got the disks from, or downloaded them? its a start..

have cleared faults twice even from individual modules and still all same faults come back checked boot behind panel all safe and dry dont know firmware before update but was trying to install 4F0906961T many thanks for your replies

I done a google on that part number and it's the CDs for MMI basic? Do you have a colour screen in the middle of the dash above the heater controls?

what is your set up, mmi high with cd sat nav/ dvd sat nav/ 6 disk changer? where did you get the update cd/dvd from? how many cd/dvd are they?

i Have MMI basic plus (monochrome red/black) i have 6 disc changer and single disc satnav (CD) in glovebox i got download from http://gpsunderground.com/forum/audi...ersion%5D.html i installed the map okay then tried the language support thats when all my problems started many thanks for your time to reply

re install but leave the lanuage alone, if everythig is ok, then the language cd is corrupt. these download sites can offer someting for free, but not always reliable, maybe the language cd is corroupt.. thats what i'd try first.

have tried reinstall many times but it wont and every time i start car satnav just says 'navigation is initialising please wait' no matter how long i wait be it minutes or hours i could live without the satnav its the annoying MMI restart evry 5 minutes or so that is wrecking my head

reset the mmi with vcds, controller 07, channel 111, input a value of 1

or press on console press SETUP, BIG KNOB, top RIGHT soft button.
