    Hi All,

Got myself a 2.5 tdi 180 quattro avant recently and would like to fit a tuning box to improve mpg and smooth out the turbo lag low down. Car pulls like a train but there seems room for improvement to improve low end. Would appreciate reveiws feedback on the best one to buy.

Also I have changed the original alloys (235/45/17 to nuvolari style alloys 225/40/18, would like to fit wheel spacers ,I think 10mm either side would do. The nuvolari alloys seem as wide on the outside as the originals but I think the car would improve looks wise and maybe handling wise, could someone advice.

    Thanks Audi lovers

Have had a genuine Tuning Box CO box on my 2.5Tdi Quattro for over a year and it does make a diff. The good ones are dear but I found this on ebay for £100 so its paid for itself in better mpg and I like the extra torque.

Looked into the Steinbaur box way to expensive at £675 quid. Done at lot more research and finally decided on a remap from Shark performance. I know there's differing opinions out there for maps or boxs , but I decided on a remap due to the cars performance being altered at the ecu and in keeping with the cars safety perimeters rather than "fooling" the car into over fueling.

Was going to go with a Oscarli remap but I picked up the phone and spoke to the main man Ben at Shark performance and found him to be a no ******** type of guy and bought his map with the self tuning/ diagnostic and immobiliser tuning device option.

For anyone interested I will be posting a review up soon to let you know what I think. I am going to load the new map up this morning and give the car a run.Fingers crossed then!!

Ok here goes, Loaded performance remap. Very easy to install, took about 5 minuets to load. My first run was to drive as normal up some bendy b roads typical up and down Welsh roads. The difference was not massive but very noticeable . The turbo comes in sooner and very smoothly every gear from low down pulls so much better. I was finding myself driving lazy boy style yet at the same time moving very rapidly. I had a big grin on my face every time the old v6 sprung to life. 5th and sixth pulls like a train and you can romp up the hills with ease, knowing at any given time if you want to give the car the beans you can.

This set up is near to spot on as I quess you can go with out going over the top and chucking lots of cash at it. The car is now how I was expecting it to be or at least how it should be. Full marks to Ben at Shark he tweeked the map as per my requirement.

I also asked Ben to try and improve the mpg at the same time ( yes I know I want it all), this will take me a little longer to figure out. To be honest if the mpg is the same I will still be happy though.

For the record hp should be around the 210 mark and torque is up 50ft/lbs to 320.

So far very happy thus far. Thanks Shark.
