rear door wouldn't lock from inside (using 'lock' button)

My rear driver door cannot be locked from inside by central locking button. It locks and then unlocks itself right away and can only be locked by physically pushing the pin down.

All doors lock with a remote and by turning a key in the lock from outside the vehicle.

Does anyone know how to sort this annoying thing out? Thanks.

When you open the door, does the interior lamp/puddle lamp work? I'm going to guess at no. If this is the case, I suggest you check the wiring to the ccu from the door, and also the microswitch in the door catch assembly.

Thanks for your help Daz. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the lights work as they are supposed to. I had a wet driver's side carpet problem during winter which was eliminated and I have checked the CCU and the cables around it at that occasion. I didn't have the door locking problem at that time so didn't check the driver's side. Will do it today or tomorrow hopefully, if my girlfriend doesn't find anything 'better' for me to do
