The 17958 code has come and gone as I have fiddled with the car over the months.
I now get both codes, especially the 17552 on even a short run.

    Shall I replace the MAF?

Code 17552 kept returning everytime I started the car.

I bought an Ebay lead and quizzed the car with VAG-COM 409.1.
Having cleared the code I thought I'd disconnect the maf and see if it created a different result.
The wiring harness was already disconnected!

The clip was broken... I've applied some silicone to temporarily hold it in place.

17958 comes and goes. I was googling it and saw a link on a SEAT site about it. That site gave me the "XP Security 2011" virus.

    I'm all clean now though!

    17958
Its a brake hose issue. Without vacuum to the boost control, you're going to get that code.

    17552
The code can also come from having unplugged the MAF while changing the air filter.

if all else fails - apply the petrol and box of matches
