Removing Drive Shafts

After a bit of advice.
Needed to replace the front suspension rear bushes and one of the rubber gaiters on the drive shaft (CV joint boot I think) for the MOT. Bushes are done, however the lad fitting them couldn't work out how to get the drive shafts out to fit the new gaiter. He's fitted a temporary replacemnt which will do me good for a while, but is there a tool needed to remove the drive shafts, or is there a certain technique to removing them.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi mate pretty straight forward.
Assuming you or your mechanic chap know the proceedure for removing the hub bolt all you need to then remove is the 3 nuts securing the lower ball joint to the hub housing. (Just look below the disc and you'll see them)
The whole hub assembly then comes away towards the rear of the car and you then have access to the cv joint. Remember you'll have to push the cv joint by hand through the hub assembly beforehand.

If he does need to remove the driveshaft then there are 6 spline bolts to unbolt from the gearbox flange shaft.
As it happens I'm just seconds away from adding a thread to ask about a way to remove the cv joint without taking driveshaft off.

Is there a procedure for removing the hub bolt? Or is it just the way you have worded your response?
I'll pass on the information. There were about 5 lads looking at it when it was in the garage and they couldn't work it out, to be fair they know peugeots inside out so not their usual.

It's more common sense really,
I assume they will realise not to loosen the bolt too much while car on it's wheels or it will damage the bearing. I think vw say no more than 90°.

I don't mind doing it myself, but i've got limited gear available so didn't want to start this and find that I was stuck half way through.

Just read a how to guide on VW Vortex. Think that explains what you are saying, unloosen the hub bolt 1/4 turn while on the floor, and the wheel bolts. Raise the car, remove wheel and hub bolt, remove caliper. Then take out the three retaining bolts and swing the hub out of the way.
