2.5tdi engine starts but will not rev at all

hi as in title the engine idles good but throttle does not do anything could it be electric throttle pedal thanks for any help

Engine code from the ID label in the spare wheel bay or service book and the year and model would be a good start. Regards Peter

A fault scan would help..

hi have scanned with vcds and found no fault codes hope this helps

hi peter bdg engine 2.5tdi sport cvt 163bhp 2003 just had rac look at it and he said throttle electrics are ok but no faults are showing on his scanner hope this helps cheers steve.FIXED it was g79 throttle sensor after all putting out wrong readings thanks for your help cheers steve

The RAC guy must not have looked at the live data or in fact checked the resistance at pins 4 and 6 or 5 and 6 for automatics. These are the varying values that set the throttle. Good that it is fixed. Regards Peter
