    Hi Guys

I'm new here so be gentle

I just got myself a 2009 A6 Avant delivered today so far so good

Apparently i don't have the Sat Nav nor Bluetooth installed with the built in MMI

I have been told that i cannot have either of these installed as these are installed during the build

Is there really no way i can have these features installed

I dont really want to buy a sat nav to stick on the windscreen or have a bluetooth car kit all the centre console buttons are there so i would like to be able to use them

Any ideas or help would be gratefully received

    Thanks Guys

Iirc this has been covered lots before, try doing a search and see what appears

I thought all the facelift cars had the 3G system? What does it say when you press the NAV button? And the same as the TEL or NAME?

    Hi Chris

    Thank you for replying

Sat Nav when i press the button it says navigation system not available

    Tel says Telephone not installed

If this has been covered what would be the best keywords to search for?

    Cheers

You need to be searching for Retrofitting, Craigb is your man on having the extra's fitted though prices arn't cheap for Nav Retrofit. You could also try Ben @ Shark Performance as he does some retrofitting and did a bluetooth retrofit for me about a year ago.

As a guide it worked out about £350 - £400 to have the bluetooth retrofitted.

Hope you've got deep pockets as the Nav will be expensive depending what level you go for.

I have retrofitted AMI and Sat Nav.

Both units were bought from a well know auction site and the cables from http://www.kufatec.de (click on the UK flag to see the site in English).

The AMI was easy, I had to update the MMI software as I have a 2005 car then remove the CD changer and plug in the AMI.

The Sat Nav was more involved and followed by issues as the drive I bought had a faulty lens (one of the risks of buying second hand units from the public). Now fixed by headunit-repair.co.uk

I am also experiencing intermittant MMI system re-sets which might be related or something else and I am starting to investigate this now I have the nav working.

    My costs have been approx:
    AMI = £200
Sav Nav = £250 Drive, £150 drive repair, £100 cables

This is a saving against someone doing it for you but they use brand new unit which come with a 2 year warrant. Plus, they know what they are doing so would save a lot of head scratching.

Having done it I would say if you have the money get it done properly. If you don't you need to consider if it's worth doing at all as even if you can find the parts cheaper they might not work and you will be on your own if there are any issues.
