I would like a bit of general advice re a cluster swap!!
I have a later cluster with the silver rings and when I fit it into my 97 B5 when I eventually get it to start the rev counter does not work. It also comes up with a low oil pressure warning. Is there some sort of incompatibility here or am I making a real daft mistake??
Any advice would be most welcome, and I could provide part numbers of all the relevant parts to any kind soul who could offer some help!!!

Chassis number of your car by PM and the PN of both clusters would help.
