Cambelt kit and water pump

Hi,

Im after a cambelt kit and water pump for my A4 2.8 30v, any recommendations where i should get them from and how much should i be looking to pay.

Contitech or SKF (genuine) cambelt kits from Euro Car Parts is what i use. They do 2 kits, 1 with the vibration damper,belt,tensioner and relay roller (very important as it's actually the hydraulic tensioner) and one without the vibration damper. I also use KWP water pumps with metal impeler, replaced hundreds and had not a single failure as yet (they are made in Germany with genuine bearings). For peace of mind you could buy a genuine water pump at nearly 80 quid exchange. I would also advice you to replace the thermostat with a genuine new item as they known to fail (sod's law soon after cambelt job) and its placed behind the cambelt so it makes sense to change while at it. You're looking at £300 just in parts...

Sounds good to me,

I had been looking at a company called blauparts, US company and going off the info on the site, you get everything in the kit thermostat, aux belt antifreeze the lot, it comes in at about 370 dollars, which is roughly 225 quid, they do seem gen but you never know!! anyone heard of them??

Got mine done 10 months ago.

water pump
thermostat
power steering belt
cambelt kit (belt+tensioner+bolt)
auxiliaries belt
3 litres G12++
oil filter/seal/washer

All genuine Audi parts from Tetbury Audi £260

Got it fitted by an independent for £170

Audi tech advised no need to replace vibration damper unless showing signs of leakage. Audi don't class it as a service item.

TBH some of the kits on Ebay etc I found to be at least as, if not more expensive than genuine Audi parts. Some suppliers are just fleecing.
