    hi all,
wondering if someone can help me, i have a 1998 audi a3 1.6 petrol 8v and it drives wonderfully until you leave it idle for 5 to 10 mins then it start belching out plumes of white smoke , and it doesnt stop until you start going for a spin then it clears, it is not using any oil or water and is all clean , no trace of them mixing with each other. i have had the head off , changed the valve stem oil seals and a new head gasket but still does the same. i have been to 3 differtent garages and they all have different opinions, one says the oil rings another says something else and so on, ive plugged vagcom in and it only comes up with one fault , the lambada sensor.
    any ideas anyone please ?
    thanks malc.

If it white, its water, you HAVE to be using coolant. Either that or your exhausts are filled with water but white smoke = burning water
