    What year or model did vw introduce 3x3 point seat belts to the rear of the golf mk4?

    Mk4's have always had them. My missus Mk3 has them too so I think you'll be going back a bit, pre-1992 maybe?
    2003 VW Golf Est 1.9 TDI 130 (gone but not forgotten after 379,000 miles)

    strange my mk 3 gti only has a lap belt and 2x3 point belts. I am looking to move up to a mk4 as not too happy with my eldest son only using a lap belt.

    Sorry, I misunderstood you. 2 x 3point belts and a lap belt in the Mk3. The Mk4 has a lap belt in the middle.

    no worries, so do you know when the mk4 got three 3 point belts in the rear as i think i have seen it in a mk4 or did they not get them till the mk5.

    i have a final edition mk4 and mine only has a lap belt in the middle . it is a 53 reg

    the 3rd 3 point rear seat belt was part of a factory option that also gave you the 3rd rear head rest. You usually see a lot of GTI Recaro interiors with this fitted

    ok thanks all, it looks like it might just be pot luck then, need to look for a middle headrest model and hope the third belt was ticked on the options list.
