On the Tdi badge on the back, how many of the letters are red?

The badges mean nothing I'm afraid as many dealers plonked on what they saw fit, however as a very rough rule of thumb all red does equal a 150.

However the most reliable way to tell is to check weather the car has a side mounted (as all other TDI's except the 150) or a front mounted intercooler (only fitted to the 150).

To check with the bonnet up, look at the air ducting on the left hand side if it's a side mount (they are on the drivers side). If a front mount, you'll see ducting on both sides.

Also as above if it is there, check the data sticker for the engine code.
