Hey guys it's been a long time! Got bit of a problem with my car. I have jl 1000/1 running 2 jl12w6s. During winter the subs sometimes distorted and did not follow the path of the music that was playing. It sometime made random bass sounds at full volume even though the stereo was low. This still happens randomly. Recently the alarm ( factory ) come on randomly. Last week I tried to start the car and nothing it was dead. Charged battery and still the same symptoms. One thing I noticed if I didn't put the alarm on the car started. It car was alarmed it sometimes drained the battery. This has never happened before. I but a new Bosch battery in yesterday. Today the alarm went off again and the random bass played through the sub again. Anyone know any fixes or know someone that can fix? Car I 2006 passat 2.0 tdi.
Took car to vw As alarm was still going off after disconnecting the amp fuse. Charged me £300 for diagnostics parts and labour for new door lock as that was what caused the alarm to go off! Guess what just woke me up? The bloody alarm! going to vw on Monday. Apart from the obvious what should I say to them?

I would get a second opinion from an audio expert. All that extra power being taken from the battery will have a strain on everything else. I ran 2 inphase xt12 subs and ipa1600 amp in my last B6. Never had any problems with it except for the alternator started to go before I sold it.

Always make sure the add on equipment is disconnected. Then run a VCDS check to see what triggers the alarm. Aftermarket audio equipent is often a pain on modern cars.
