    Hi Guys,
I'm aware that my new car will be coming with Ad-blue ammonia injection as part of the EU clean emissions etc. Was wondering if any of you guys have had issues with topping it up? I realise that Its done at main dealer when you get a service at no extra charge, however I do have a few questions.

-Do independent specialists top it up as well? (I shop around for my servicing!)
-Has anyone here had it run low and had to go back to the dealer to specifically get it topped up? - How much did it cost?
-Has anyone here simply topped it up themselves?
-How many miles on average does a full tank of ad-blue last?

Wow a big step up in car, I'm sure you will notice an improvement

Call me old fashioned, but I would not trust my car with anyone other than a main dealer. The few problems I have had have all been dealt with quickly and without fuss and having been with the same dealer for over 10 years now, I know the staff and they me and it all makes for a pleasant experience.

There is nothing that can not be done by an outside specialist and there is a garage with a huge reputation near me that just deals with VAG cars but I can not bring myself to take my pride and joy there.

Its your car and I suppose, your risk!

Adblue is very common on recent trucks. I have 2 trucks fitted with Adblue tanks and they need topping up every 6 or so tanks of fuel. I buy it in 1000 litre drums!

I know the Audis are designed to run for a longer interval without top ups, but if you do find the light comes on all you need do is buy some from a motorway services, truck dealership or similar. They sell 1 litre bottles.

It is very corrosive, so be careful not to spill it. You most also not contaminate the tank, so stories of putting water in or anything else are just pub talk!
