Hi there, hope everyone is doing well and not having too many Passat related issues.

So I have discovered I have two problems with my fuel flap

    1. The wiring at the button is dodgy, leading to intermittent function, that is, if I reach my finger through the hole by the handbrake and poke the wires, it sometimes works.

    2. The solenoid is not connected to the rod that opens the flap.

I am wondering what do I need to connect the rod to the solenoid?

I have attached an image of the solenoid, hopefully you can make out the rod (which has a hook end) and the solenoid.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Yeah it does, which means the plunger is separated from the
    solenoid.

Mmm... now what would you do??

Yeah sorry about the picture, the file size limited to 19.5kb for jpeg attachments, which means a very small pic. What I'm assuming is that I'm missing a bit that attaches the rod to the solenoid, I don't know what it looks like or what it's called.

Once I know that I can get one! Hopefully

Just for the record it is most definitely not attached! The solenoid works fine.
