    Hi All,

I am thinking of upgrading my stereo in my MK5 Golf from the ugly and old RCD 300 to the new RCD310 that they put in the MK6. I've heard there can be battery drainage, can anyone confirm this and possibly tell me any fix around this?

    Thanks

Depends on what revision your old CAN gateway is. You'll also need an antenna adapter. I just did the swap about a month ago and I'm really happy with the new unit. I will probably upgrade to an RNS-510 in the future though.

As others have said you may need to upgrade your can bus gateway depending on what you have fitted. You can usually purchase the can bus gateway and the aerial adaptor on ebay.

As well as looking better they sound better too.

I have an RCD310 for sale on the forum from my 8 month old Passat.
