Today I've had 4 new kumho tyres fitted, and had the alignment done while I was there

I've just noticed that my steering wheel is now not straight, and seems to be pointing slightly to the right

The car doesn't feel like it's pulling in any particular direction, as far as I can te, but the non straight steering wheel is quite annoying

Is this likely to 'right' itself once the tyres are worn in a bit?

No, I suspect it's had an alignment some time before for suspension parts, and now you have a dead straight setting it's chucked the wheel off, I would also go back just incase the fitter didn't know what he was doing.

p.s don't confuse it with the effects of the road camber, this can make a wheel feel off, but only by an inch or so.

It's a common mistake made by fitters. The front track hasn.t been adjusted equally on both sides so the steering wheel is crooked. It won't effect the steering but if it is irritating, go back and get it sorted properly.

Further to the above, I've driven it back to the fitters and is pulling to the left. Just waiting for him to put it back on the ramp

    Right

Been back to the fitter who re-done the alignment

He said it had 'moved' but he has corrected it

Then drove away, and the steering wheel is straight but the car is now pulling to the right!

Took it straight back and the bloke suggests it's 'tyre pull' from the new tyres

He swapped the fronts with the rears, but it's still pulling to the right but not as bad

    ARRRGGHHH

I've had similar bother after gettin my car alligned. Are they setting the steering wheel to centre before they start the work?

Problem with mine is too much toe out and it bump steers like mad! It's also warn out my front Tyres alot quicker than they should have.

Is it full 4 wheel alignment there doing?

    Yes, it's a 4 wheel alignment.

And he had some sort of brace/jack thing under the steering wheel so I presume so

God, wish I hadn't of bothered now, as it was fine before!

X2! Although I've taken it to someone else since. I took it to them with the standard wheels on, but they said I would be better with my alloys on to get it done, even though there staggered (wider rears). Been told these new guys are the experts and know everything there is to know, so I can get it set up as I like, and get the wheels set so they wont rub!

Did it make any difference by taking it to someone else, as I feel this is my next option
