When I purchased the car in 2009 i was told the tax would be £215 and for the past two years it has been, received the renewal in the post yesterday and it states £245.00.... I don't recall any mention of Road Tax increasing,, and as the emissions on the car havent changed surely the tax should remain the same?? maybe there has been some kind of mistake??

Anyone else with S4 got a renewal for £ 245?

    Cheers

I don't have an S4..but as far as I am aware the Road tax on most cars goes up every year? (Except for eco/low C02 cars). My 1.9TDi has changed from £145 to £150 to £155 respectively each year. I think the bands move and shift about...might be worth looking on the DVLA site because I think theres a breakdown of them on there.

Mine's a 2004 S4 4.2. I bought it a month ago with the remains of a 12 month tax disc (it expires April). The previous owner paid £245 for it, so I guess yours is accurate...
To be honest, I was surprised they don't find an excuse to charge even more for it.
