    Hi All
I am trying to locate the engine management temp sensor for the 115PD TDI engine in my Passat 2000 reg. I have been told the sensor should be green or blue sensor I have found one mounted on the right hand lower hose to the radiator!. but the manual i have (haynes) states the sensor is on the top hose at the back right hand side of the engine. It is black and screw mounted + plug that plugs into it is purple inside but i guess this is the water seal.
part number on top sensor is Bosch 0281 002177/038 906 051.

Please can anyone point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks simon.

On the rear of the cylinder head there is a plastic manifold and the temperature sender is on the lefthand side of it. (off-side)

Well made a total **** of myself today. Turns out that the sensor i thought was the temp sender was the pressure sensor for the induction system what makes it worst is it was a spottie little git who pointed it out Double .
Still my friendly VW Mobile mechanic is going to sort it out when he does the service next week. This Guy is one serious engineer, what he and his wife don't know about ALL VW cars is not worth knowing.
I am affraid I am going to leave my tech problems to him.

    Many thanks for your help

    ATB Simon.
