Sorry to bother you with this but any ideas would be much appreceated!

    The car is a 06 A6 Avant 2.7 TDI

I am getting a strange intermittent clicking noise from the right-hand side of the engine bay. It follows a pattern of about 6 clicks and then it stops for about 2 seconds and carries on like that. It also continues a little bit after the ignition is turned off.

The Emission warning light has also come on

I have also recorded the fault and popped it on YouTube

    Any advice appreceated!!!!!

Please supply the engine code form the ID label in the spare wheel bay. You say RHS do you mean the drivers side or passenger side. Interesting the noise continues for several seconds after ir has been turned off as though it is associates to a run on device like the cooling fan. Have you tried detecting the source of the noise with a stetherscope or legth of windscreen washer pipe. Regards Peter

Long shot. Pull fuses S104 and S42 ( 40 Amp ) to disable the fans and try running the engine again. Regards Peter

I suspect this could be the Intake manifold flap motor 2 -V275- that has lost the plot, well the controller for it. Thre are two, one for each bank although the noise sounds more like a solenoid. Regards Peter

Thanks for all of the advice!

Ive tried the fuse's to no avail.

I would agree it sounds more like a solenoid, looks like a trip no the local garage in the morning instead of work so i suppose every cloud.............
