    Hi all. this is my first post aand im looking for some info please..
    i have a vw bora 1.9tdi w reg (1999) and im in need of a steering rack.. i have found several different used racks but the one the vw dealership says i need is nowhere to be found in used condition.
    the part number associated with my car is 1J2422063 But i can only find 1J2422105 from a mk4 golf.
    can anyone tell me if these parts are compatable
    hope to hear some replies soon

    Bora and golf use the same parts so I would imagine it should be ok. are you able to put the racks side by side and see any obvious differences?

    thanks for the reply.
    the old steering rack is still on my car and is currently still being used, so i cant physically look at both parts unless i dismntle my car first, but unless i have the correct replacment then im stuck with no car.
    dilemas ehh!!!
    the part numbers are very similar, with only the last 3 digits being different

    I thought the same about the part numbers. It may just be a modified one. take the part number to the dealer and see what cars it will fit.
