Just had a new stereo fitted - nothing special, and it's fitted into my '98 A3. I've now noticed a hissing from the rear speakers. This is audible when the volume is turned low, and more worryingly, when the stereo and the car is switched off. I'm concerned in case my battery is being drained whilst the car is unoccupied. Can anyone help??

The rear speakers are amplified - It's possible that the amp is being powered up.

How did the replacement unit get fitted, was there an accessory lead of any type used?
