    I think if you want dipped beam headlights on all the time then you need to code that with VCDS - there was talk of it being possible by changing the country code.
    I can't find this setting in my MMI. Where is it on yours? Maybe it is for a different bulb configuration.

    I take it you have Halogen headlights in the car going on the fact you cant find the menu? Iirc, the Running light menu is only visible if you have Xenon headlights or if you have enabled the DRLs through vcds if you have the halogen setup.

    The sensor G397 is part of the interior rear view mirror mounting assembly. The sensor deals with the auto lights and the auto wipers. The lighting is controlled by the onboard supply control unit J519 so I can only suggest you have the car coded to a country that uses DRL but be careful that that country does not have other changes that may effect you.     This isn't meant to sound sarcastic but I fear it might...

    Is it too much effort to just turn them on when you get in and off when you get out?
