I understand from Haynes that they are not intend to issue a manual for the Fox in the near future. However I have been advised that the Polo mechanics are very similar. What Polo manual would help? I have the Fox 1,2 Urban or would it be a waste of time.

The fox is very basic and not alot goes wrong with them. The engines and gearboxes are the same as the polo so you would be able to get the info for them from a polo manual.

Sounds like you need this one: Haynes Polo 2002-2005

It includes a lot of stuff about interior fittings and wiring for the Polo, but the drivetrain and brakes/suspension are pretty similar IIRC
