    Hi. Is the tailgate washer pipe issue applicable to all A6's (i have a 2008) and what is it that happens and is there anything i could do to prevent mine from leaking in the future ? Thanks.

    It is possible that Audi fixed the issue in the facelift cars - is yours one? Otherwise is applies to all Avants.

    What happens is that the pipe splits around the tailgate hinge and this causes washer fluid to pour all over the electronics stack on the left hand side in the boot. Which then fail and are horrifically expensive to replace.

    Yes, there are things you can do about it - look through some of A8_tech's posts for suggestions. Essentially to replace and re-route the vulnerable pipe section.
