thats great thanks for that. they were the leds i was looking at. i have been looking at my current ones today and as already mentioned by someone else as appears to be common problem, mine are knackered. they are actually siliconed in place. one screw has snapped so needs drilling out if possible, as dont think enough space to get the drill in. other screw stuck solid. left for now to have a think of best way to remove. does that complete unit with handle, lock, lights come out?

im not sure about the lock/handle and lights all coming out in one. If it was my car i would pry the light covers off so they snap around the screws then use mole grips or similar to grip onto the screws and undo them

ye have removed both lenses and cleaned off silicone. i think grips is only option have left to remove screw as head is rounded off. other side thou screw has snapped, not yet attempted to drill out but not sure if its possible anyway which does leave a problem. car is going into garage for bit of work tomorrow so will attempt it when get it back later in week.

aaudi4 - get the garage you're taking it to, to do it for you? Saves the ball ache of figuring out what the best way to do it is!

Thy are also the led lights i have been looking @ for mine an as they're are the full unit maybe snapping the plastic lens isn't a bad idea.

had an attempt at trying to remove screw with grips and wasnt having it. decided if i had ago of drilling out screw on other side it would end in tears so garage doing it while in. self tapers said would put in, never seen one so nodded and agreed if does the job. will need a tidy up before put leds in.

information for anyone with same problem as me. screws were snapped or stuck and needed drilling out. almost impossible as dont have space to get drill straight on. in end removed boot panel and complete light/handle/key fitting to get screw drilled out straight. however while off was quite badly corroded so rang for price of new one. cost £37 new from audi. not a bad price i didnt think. mine on order as dont carry in stock. ordered leds 2 for full affect. just in time for clocks to go forward and noone see...........never mind.
