Hello all, new on here looking for some help.
Recently have noticed that fuel consumption has gone up quite dramatically. Having taken it to my local indie, he has diagnosed that i need a new NO 3 injector as this is the pilot injector and controlls all the others. Price quoted is nearly 400 quid for a replacement. Part no is 059130202F. Can find these elsewhere for less but how can i be sure its correct. Ive read about an injector having a lift needle sensor but none of my injectors have any wires from them.
Car is 2003 A6 Quattro 2.5 engine code BAU 132 Kw.
    Thanks.

But you do have a Needle Lift sensor on Injector Number three and the cable leaves out through the side of the head and goes to a brown connector on the bulkhead. Regards Peter

We have had to replace this injector recently and got a bosch one on ebay £230 so £400 incl fitting but you may like a second opinion cos it does not make much diff to mpg although the exhaust runs cleaner due to less unburnt fuel.VAGCOM gives a clear signal if it has failed

Peter, you are correct, a small twin core comes out from between the rocker cover joint and the top surface of the head. My bulkhead connector is black though not brown.
Has anyone changed one of these and if so do you need vagcom after or is it just a plug and play.
