I recently bought a black Audi A3 1.6 2008 and its pretty standard with the standard radio/single CD player. What I want to know is if the single CD Chorus can play MP3 CD's (NOT IPOD MP3's) or will I have to replace the unit with an aftermarket player.

    Thanks all
    Rod

Yes, a 2008 Chorus (the double DIN version) will play an MP3 CD.

Google what 'double DIN' means and you'll see.

If your radio is 2-3 inches tall its single DIN, 5-6 inches and its double

Thanks! I know what it means now, however I burned a MP3 CD off Itunes with no luck, this CD was burned without copy protection and copy protected tracks. The Chorus gives a error message "Error CD ROM" and ejects the CD so I don't know what I am doing wrong. Also, I have tried windows media player with the same problem!

    Thank You

Sounds like a media issue. You 100% sure the CD you burnt contained only .MP3 files? Anything like .AAC (Itunes default format) will be no good.

Try one of your discs in another MP3 device or borrow a known good MP3 disc from a friend.

Yeah I'm 100% sure I burned MP3 files and not AAC, the only thing with the MP3's is that they have variable bit rates as some are 128, 256 and 320 kbps (maybe they all need to be compressed at 128?). I'm going to wait for my girlfriend to come home tonight so I can use one of her MP3 CD's which I know work. I'll post soon as I find out if they work or not...

    Thanks!
