    Hi Guys

Fairly new here, I've recently purchased a 2007 A4 Avant with built in RNS-E sat nav unit

    My question is :-

Has anyone managed to copy the Sat Nav DVD and use the copy instead of the original disc. I've not got a CD changer (well not that I can find anyway) and with the kids wanting to play CDs etc I'm forever ejecting the SatNav DVD and I'm a little worried about damaging the original disc and would like to copy it and obviously use the copy instead of the original and was wondering if anyone has managed to do this successfully

    Any advice greatly apppreciated

    Thanks

No. The correct response to your question is.... we don't discuss copying discs on this forum due to the copyrights. I would recommed you get 6 disc cd changer fitted in the glove box or use the SD cards behind the screen.

    Thanks for the reply Ben

Didn't realise it was a copyright issue as I already own the original DVD and only want to make a backup

Do you know if the RNS-E on B7 (2007) will read 8Gb SD cards as I' thought I read somewhere on this forum that it will only read 2Gb SD cards without a Firmware update, which means getting the latest update from Audi

Seems Audi have us over a barrel (a £160 barrell )

    Thanks

Copying happens. We just will not permit the methods or locations to other online sources to be discussed in open forum.

https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=96365 is all you need ref SD cards.

The cd changer is easy to fit but may need coding in with vag com.

Ben has stated the policy of the site regarding copyright... BUT....

I am sure I have read somewhere that if you own the original disc, you are allowed to make one copy to help protect the original disc... but I am not 100% sure... PROVIDING you are not selling the copy....

If you have the box for the disc, it may say on there....

Cd changer was not standard. It was a cost option.

DVD is simple and easy to backup, I did mine as I didn't want to damage the original.
