    hi i have a 98 lt35 2.5 and i have recantly had the ecu re conditioned due to all kinds of faults but since it has come back it will only run for 2 seconds and cut out
    i had a mechanic come out and the only faults he could find
    p1612 engine ecu coding incorrect
    control unit coded wrong adaption limit exceeded
    i then contacted the people who reconned it they said yes just recode the ecu and it will be fine (unfortunatelly i have misplaced my wand) how the hell do i do this i can borrow a snap on modus computer will this do it
    any help or advice would great the van has been off the road since 23/12 so got to get it running its not even done 70k

    Sounds like it needs coding to the Immobiliser. Thats possibly why it starts, runs then stops.
    Is it your vehicles ECU or a reconditioned one from another vehicle ?

    Starts for a few seconds and cuts out is your immobiliser. Have you a spare key to try ?
    I would get onto the company that done ( or done in, as it sounds ) the ECU and say " Nooo ! Not good enough !"

    yes ive tried that all they say is that
    i asked why when it came off this vehicle would it need coding to this van
    Because obviously it is not synchronised, and there is a mismatch of information. It is not unusual for this sort of issue to happen once the ECU ha sbeen removed or battery has been disconnected.

    was there answer v unhappy
