    For some strange reason the rear door has stuck shut and I cannot open it either from the inside or the outside. It looks as if that little plastic thing that is visible on the other door handles has come off.

    Is there any way to open the door without destroying either the handle or the interior panel/door card??

    my 2p worth

    Sometimes banging on the door near the lock mechanism can help, at the same time have an assistant keep pressing the unlock button on the drivers door/keyfob.

    if that fails and you are desperate enough try this:

    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=106579

    And when you get it open try this;

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1542461

    sometimes it is a broken cable in the wiring loom to the door, most commonly in the rubber gaiter, but passat wet carpet syndrome causes problems at the A pillar on the passenger side, where the central convenience unit wiring runs, could be a corroded wire/joint there too.
