Black smoke coming out of exhaust

Hi Guys at times when i drive my audi and do sudden acceleration, black smokes comes out of exhaust...i did a full rev once in hope it would clear it out but no luck...

is this healthy? is there anything i can do or is it garage job only?

I have Audi a4 Diesel 1.9tdi and 54 Reg

Heavy black smoke coming out under acceleration is over fuelling,look for leaks in your boost pipes or intercooler,also how long has your maf been in situ.

Maf is the mass air flow it measures the air going to the engine,if its reading wrong the ecu will put the wrong amount of fuel in.

When was the Air Filter last renewed, worth checking the basics first.

Could be a long shot but check the erg valve they usually get clogged with gunk
