cd error on 52 plate 130 tdi

Has anyone experienced a cd error message on their concert player?.
mine has been fine until recently when this problem occured, also the front speakers are fading in and out. I really don't want to go down the aftermarket cd player route as in my opinion asthetically this will spoil the look of the cabin. If there is no fix for this problem does anybody know of a good auto electrician in Bristol who maybe could install an mp3 player for a price?.

try running a CD lens cleaner through it.
There is a known volume problem with concerts.
Stafford Audi sell recon units in their Ebay shop.

Mine has done this 3 times over the past year but a quick switch to radio and back again seems to sort it
