mrsglenbat tells me tonight the heated drivers seat in the A4 cab gets red hot, and seems to think you can see slight scorch marks on the seat part? i wont be able to see the car for a few days yet ,any ideas what could be causing this?

And is it a simple fix?
Passenger side one hasnt worked since had the car, was picked up on an audiscan as broken wire, just wondered what would cause the over heating issue?

the heating elements are notoriously naff, there was a recall because they got so hot in areas they burnt through the leather and burnt the old botty,

give audi a call and see if yours is due a recall. worth a try

Old thread I know but the problem is the wires in the pads can become worn/break - this causes hot spots. I had this and the only way to resolve is to replace the whole pad - it is not overly expensive just a pain in the proverbial to take off the seat cover.

Good luck to anyone who has this problem,

    W.
