    Hi,

    I'm about to get a Westfalia removable towbar and dedicated electrics installed. Once the job's done I need to change the vehicle coding. This will be my first update using VAG COM and I'd appreciate it if someone who's already done this could let me know just which modules need updating. The car has parking sensors.

    I found some information regarding this for the B7 on the Ross Tech website but I've not found the info for the B8.

    Thanks!

    Here's what I've deduced so far, for me I just need someone to fill in the Adaptive Cruise Control and Trailer Module blanks:

    • 01 - Engine - Byte6 Bit3
    • 03 - ABS Brakes - Byte1 Bit7
    • 09 - Cent. Elect. - Byte18 Bit5
    • 10 - Park Assist - Short coding possible. Label File Encrypted..! - OK to code
    • 13 - Adaptive Cruise Control - No Information
    • 19 - CAN Gateway - Add Module 69 - Trailer
    • 69 - Trailer - ???
    • 6C - RearView - Short coding possible with .lbl file - OK to code

    I no longer have the A4, it was sold a few years ago now, but I did manage to find the coding info that I posted after the car was updated by the dealer:

    I finally got around to getting this sorted out at the dealers. Afterwards I used VCDS to see what changes had been made to my 2010 S-Line Avant TDI:

    [01 - Engine]
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 4, Bits 0-3 Changed from 0011 to 0100

    [01 - Engine]
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 5, Bit 4 Changed from 0 to 1
    (via check box "Trailer Installed" in VCDS)

    [03 - ABS Brakes][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 1, Bit 7 Changed from 0 to 1
    (via check box "Trailer Hitch Installed" in VCDS)

    [09 - Central Elec]
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 18, Bit 5 Changed from 0 to 1
    (via check box "Trailer Hitch Installed" in VCDS)

    [10 - Park / Steer Assist]
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 0, Bits 0-3 Changed from 0000 to 0001 [Trailer Hitch Not Installed to Trailer Hitch Installed (Manually Removable) via pull-down list in VCDS]

    [5F - Information Elec]
    [Coding - 07]->[Long Coding Helper]->Byte 10, Bit 5 Changed from 0 to 1

    [19 - CAN Gateway]->[Installation List]->Tick 69 - Trailer

    Hope this is useful to others!

    Hi, thank you very much for your help. I installed a towbar in my audi a4 from 2015 and I'm getting several errors. I tried to code the abs once it seems the root of most problems but the code presented by the program seems that is not the right one. Do you have any idea on where can I find this code?

    Thnak you
