    Default Heater Fan Blower – 12-02-2011,11:55 AM
    The heater fan blower motor 4B2 820 021C on my 2003 A6 2.0 SE petrol has effectively stopped working, after 181k.

    I purchased one from a breaker, same year etc, but they sent the older variant which has longer fan blades, so doesn't fit.

    Rather than messing around trying to get my money back and wasting time, it looks like it should be possible to swap the fan blades over, but it seems to be very difficult to pry off without damaging or bending the axle.

    Has anyone tried and been successful?

    I'd really appreciate any tips as I don't want to spend £ 346 for a new one from the local dealer!

    I am happy to announce that with a little WD40, a Hammer and about 5 minutes not too gentle tapping the fan blades popped off. Sorted.
