hello, just recently bought a remapped vw golf mk5 1.9 tdi 54 plate. remapped from 105 bhp to 150bhp. after a couple months of driving, one day i gave the car alot of throttle and the engine management light appeared (whoops).

i had a diagnostic done and the code was for the motor for the intake manifold flap, which i then replaced. and my mechanic cleared the codes, however 5 mins later the light came back on came back on and this time the diagnostic read fault codes:

p3101 - motor for intake manifold flap open or short to ground

p0691 - fan 1 control circuit short to GND

any ideas as to how i can resolve this problem and could it be because of the remap as i was told 150bhp is too much power taken out of the car?

sorry to make this an essay but any sort of help would be appreiciated.
    thanks

hi mate my 105 has been mapped to 140 and had no problems, now you have blown a fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet, the 140 2 lts have the same throttle flap issue and blow the fuse, if you chech all the fuse's in the box near the battery and replace the blown fuse, then have the codes deleted that should cure your fault, hope this helps mate

Cheers mate.. But the fuse blew and the light came on again and it read the manifold flap intake- no signal, which is the actual flap itself again which i had changed. So could I have bought a faulty part? As I purchased it from eBay.

if it was a S/H one then there is a strong chance its knackered, GSF do them for £170 + vat, also just make sure both rad fans turn freely, it could be one of them is siezed and its blowing the fuse

sorry to long this out but i got a different guy to do a VAGCOM diagnosis and the part number came up as 03g906016cb rather than 038128063g (which is the part i matched up with the original manifold flap that stopped working). i am totally confused as to which part i require??
