    .

    Hi guys.

I have an A4 Avant brand new and I'm having issues with the windows.

Before I get in touch with the leasing company I want to check it with you guys first.

    A4 windows that are electric..

What would make them open on their own?

On two ocasions now I have returned to the car to find both front windows open
    by exactly the same amount.

When I leave the car I double click the lock and then somtimes I
click the lock a few more times as I walk away.

I'm I opening the windows with the extra click of the lock?
If it has nothing to do with the locking is there a known fault
with the electric windows opening on their own?

    Cheers guys

Like most VAG cars if you hold down the open door switch on your remote this will lower all windows, so could you be doing this accidentally. Try and see if that could be the problem.

As above you must be hitting the unlock button at the same time, the windows will open (iirc it's called courtesy open or something like that in the settings) if you are hitting the unlock button. In the same way that if you leave your windows open then when you hold down the lock button the windows will close.

Makes me wonder if you're actully leaving the car unlocked.....

The features mentioned in the previous posts are "global open" and "global close"

holding the lock button for more than a few secs will lock the car and activate global close.......closing any / all open windows

holding the UNlock button for the same amount of time will unlock the car and should open any / all windows.

I have had times when I've had the keys in my pocket and they been pressed tight against something and have opened the windows.

Unless you have ONLY front electric windows I can't see it being this feature?

    Cheers Guys.

I have been into the controls and turned the window controls off
(it was set for front only) and tommorow I will try and get the winds
    to open again.

I thought it must have been somthing I was doing ...

Thanks to a member of the hotel staff who put clingfilm over the openings
to stop rain entering and preventing too much wettness.

He noticed it at about 10.00 and it took him till 12.30 to find me and
    I was very grateful..

So thanks for the responces guys...
