As the title really. The rear half of the space has the spare wheel, a space saver in my case, with tool kit kept within. Other than that it is a void. The front half of the boot floor is a shallow void. I've not taken a tape measure to it yet.

I've fitted a towbar and have not yet come up with a soloution to the stowage of the removable ball but i've come up with an idea that would suit me and be customisable for many many other purposes and use this void space.

I'm thinking of taking my car to these people, have a browse of their site, to see if they could sort me a firm foam setup possibly using this technique i could house my towball, map book, nav dvd box, 1st aid kit or whatever else i choose.

    Who else would be interested?

    Ben,
granted, you were only quoting examples of stuff you could store under the floor,
but a FIRST AID KIT would not be my choice, i feel it needs to be available with ease,
and perhaps wouldn't be if you were loaded ?
yes, it seems a great idea though,
    take care,
    regards,
    stewy.

I use this area to store my ratchet staps for the roof bars, and my long handled wheel spanner.

Also when I have dirty stuff to carry the floor folds up and you have a wipe clean surface to put stuff on.

I stick my first aid kit in the back seat storage compartment (the middle seat box)

Under the floor i keep a set of jump start cables, engine oil, a small bag of screws/screwdriver/socket set and wrench and a few random nuts and bolts along with a spare set of car bulbs. I also carry a torch and some duct tape just in case a night time emergency ever occurs!

I remove the panels when I go camping as I find it gives so much space back and I avoid getting the carpet dirty as the pastic just wipes down.

    .

Idid not even know about this space but I've only
had the thing a short while and I'm still finding things about it.

are you talking about the floor panel infront of the wheel well?
The panel nearest the back seats?

If you are I looked at that on my first inspection and could not lift
    the floor up!!

How does the floor lift? Is it just a matter of pulling hard? Or is
there a catch that needs releasing?

    Cheers

When you open the boot there should be a grab handle near the aluminium rubbing strip in the centre- pull that up to fold the floor back and access the spare wheel.

Remember this is for avants- I'm not sure if saloons do the same
