I know normally you'd fit 225x40x18 on a golf mk4 with the RS4 replica wheels.... but would 235x40x18 tyres fit?

    can you see any problems?

    cheers,
    Dan

Sorry if this has been covered before... couldnt find any info using the search function.

I knew someone with a mk4 golf that ran8.5j rims with 235/40 tyres- they did fit, but they looked like they would float on water, and he was too scared to try to lower it cos it would have rubbed all over the place!! i know it doesn't look like theres much difference in size, but when you stand them together there is!! If the rims you have are 8j, i'd hang out a bit longer for the 225's. Hope this helps.
