Hi all, I'm due to have my car test in the next month in Ireland and recently they introduced a new test on the engine management light. On turning the ignition it must light and extinguish to pass the test. Mine doesn't work at all. It hasn't worked in quite some time. Recently I've had work done by vw and since then my vagcom doesn't work, that's another issue as the light didn't work before the vagcom didn't and there was no fault code for it.

Anyway my question is can a bulb be replaced? Is so how? If not what can I do.

The engine control light is not a bulb.it is a led and part of the dash circuit- board, it can be replaced, but it involves, removing the dash, and removing the circuit-board from the dash.Question is,is it the led or is something wrong with the circuit -board?
