    Hi guys,

I thought I'd say hello and introduce myself and my new car. I've been reading these forums for years having owned a Golf and 2 Passats but now am the proud owner of a 2003 A8 4.0 tdi. I picked her up yesterday and had a pleasurable 200 mile drive home along the M1 and M25 full of roadworks, average speed cameras and 50mph limits sadly. I'm still very impressed withthe fuel economy of such a large engine, It didn't use much more fuel then the 2.0 tdi Freelander that we went to collect it in.

I've been so impressed so far although think I'll still be discovering new features and toys this time next year.

Here are a few pics the prvious owner had taken, I'll get some more today.

Welcome. Very nice car indeed. I would love an A8 but have to have an estate for the pesky kids and a dog!

Chuck them in the boot, there's plenty of room for them to stretch their legs, and its much quieter for the driver

Thanks guys, I've had the car over a week now and have loved every moment that I've spent behind the wheel, even sitting in traffic.

A6_Chris, have you figured out where the registration looks familiar from?

Hi Pete, Nice choice of car, how long have you had your A8? I picked up mine 2 weeks ago and in just over 2 hours I'm leaving for Amsterdam, can't wait to see how she performs once I'm across the channel.

Hi Tony - I bought mine last summer, so I havent had mine that long. They are awesome cars. This is my first A8, but given the last few months her, she wont be the last. When I got her the last owner had managed to curb every wheel. So I have refurbed all the wheels and put a new set of tyres on and she looks as good as new.

    Good luck with the trip.

Pete I've had my A8 a month now and have to say it's the most amazing car I've ever owned, it's my first A8 but sertainly won't be my last. After taking 3 of us to Amsterdam and back the other weekend cruising at considerable speed with rather surprising fuel economy I'd buy another tdi. There are a few things I want to do to her though, I want to get a couple of small scrapes touched up on the bumper bumpstrip inserts and want to get the wheels refurbed.
