Yeah! That old favourite - Relay 30!

I would simply like to know - where is the Number 30 relay located on a 1994 Audi 80? I thought it was under the steering column but I can't find it. Can anyone point me at it please? Many thanks
    John

on my audi 80 ,1993, it is under dash , take off shelf and it is to the left of the steering wheel nearer the dash than the bulk head , you will have to lay on the floor looking up under the dash. there are two relays near each other and it is the higher one. not easy to find but hope this helps.

Thanks Merton1973, that will help. I've removed the shelf already in my '94 Audi; I guess I just wasn't looking hard enough.

The garage had the car for five months and still couldn't fix the erratic running, even after a brand new distributor, plugs, leads, lambda sensor, cam senosor, MAF sensor, fuel pipes, filters, etc. I'll find this wretched Relay 30 if it's the last thing I do! Thanks again Merton

Thansk mate, I did get it fixed eventually, and the problem wasn't Relay 80 since my 1996 1,6 Audi 80 does not have one! Long story... took car for an MOT, was told it needed a replacement fuel pipe, so had one fitted. Picked the car up with its fresh MOT but it ran like a dog - surging, stalling, stuttering, etc.

The garage refitted the pipe twice, replaced Mass air sensor, cam sensor, lambda sensor, just about everything electrical in the engine compartment and still could not find the fault. I was even accused of 'pulling a fast one' by bringing a malfunctioning carin to the garage and then claiming they had caused the problem!

The garage had the car so long (about four months) that I even had to buy anotehr car to get me to and from work.

Eventually gave up on the useless cretins and took the car home. Took the car to another garage who very quickly located the problem. The imbeciles at the first garage had fitted the new fuel pipe but left the blanking plug in the return feed. As a result the injectors were being fed petrol at 180psi instead of the required 30-40psi. And hence the stuttering, stalling engine! Jeez!!!
