Hi all, bit new to Audi's so please don't flame.

Had a scout round regarding getting the service due indicator reset but not had much luck.

From what I understand so far I may need some sort of diag tool?

I have a ScanGauge II which is ok for OBDII fault codes and engine status monitoring (had it fitted to my MX5 permanently with a rear view mirror mount). But I don't think it will do a service indicator reset. I've heard that some cars had a sequence to go through which can reset it, something along the lines of pushing x button, whilst doing y, holding down z

Anyone fill in the blanks for me please?

if all you want is to reset the service light follow this

To reset the SERVICE reminder after oil change, you can do this.

If your instrument cluster has a little wrench on a button on the right (2002-2008 A4's):
Press and hold the wrench button. Turn the ignition on. Without releasing the wrench button, press the 0,0 button next to it. The center display should change. (My 2003 Audi A4 has the wrench button and I was able to reset it this way)

Hi - thanks for the advice on service light reset. I just did this on my 2004 tdi sport, as I've just serviced the car. Thing is there service indicator is now not displaying any days or miles, just dashes.

Am I doing - or have I done something wrong?

    Thanks.

It takes about 500 miles, to display anything after a reset
