Number Plate surrounds - Wolfsburg

Been looking at a set of number plate surrounds for my Passat - the Wolfsburg ones - and it's easy enough to fit on the rear as its a flat surface. What would I do at the front which is currently already a snug fit for my license plate? Can I remove the black holder currently on the front chrome piece?

yeah, that's where I got the idea to get some, and found them on ebay, just cant see them fitting on the front without removing the black holder. Will it look right against the curve of the chrome?

Thanks for the link. Will the plate holder fix to the OEM front plate holder or do I have to remove it?

The number plate holder on the front is part off the whole grille. You could try cutting it out and placing it over the top. I bought a new grille that has it blanked out and just chrome like the US.

Apologies if this is a daft question but you know the police state that we live in nowadays...
