Hi all, meet my baby. Ive had her from new (all shiny) since mid december. Its an A4 Saloon S LINE TDI 143 in Ibis White. Beautiful car and I could not be happier. She turns heads and Its hard to imagine why. Audis are pure brilliance.

Having a white car means i have to clean it often. I had the 'special coating' from audi put on my previous car (A3 Sportback) but after some damage from bird excrement on that car- I vowed i'd never pay that extra again. However, would anyone recommend it against water marks...the reason i ask is...

ive noticed some annoying watermarks on my car already but i dont want to damage the paintwork. how do i get rid of them? Is there a cloth/product i can use to wipe away the dirt as it seems to be very fine but difficult to remove?

Ive attached a pic with the watermark coming off of a passenger door chrome strip.

Thanks in advance for any reply..

You could try a clay bar

I can see somthing but its very faint.

I hate water marks I usually dry mine with a microfibre cloth and it seems to get rid.

If it were me I would try Dodo Juice Lime Prime Light (paint cleaner) or something more readily available such as Auto Glym Super Resin Polish. If this doesn't shift it then you would need to try clay (Bilt Hamber Auto Clay - Soft version is good and you can use this with water as a lubricant - use plenty though).

The joys of owning a white car - just wait until the "fallout" marks start appearing

I live in a very hard water area and water marks drive me mad, having a black car they really show up.

I would suggest first of all try a quick detailer, like the Meguiars one available at Halfords, just spray it on wipe it in and wipe off, easy.

If the water marks are too hard then Autoglyms Super Resin Polish usually will do the trick.

Regular washing with the ocassional polish & wax will help to prevent water marks and the like from adhering too well, it will also make your car look mint

    very easy to remove;

-simply dry the car with microfibre drying towel. I use autoglyms
-you could use autoglym super resin polish or even applying wax to the car will remove it.
-clay bar for stubborn water marks. Clay bar also removes those orange speckles you get on the paint work. Also known as industrial fallout.
    -use autoglym aqua wax.

However the super resin should easily do the job. Just remember to wax the area afterwards.

Try a waffleweave towel for drying and give it a good coat of decent wax whenever you get a chance- that'll help water run off before it can stain.
